Do I have to use Xero?
We can also work with a range of other softwares, however Xero is our preferred option. By focusing on Xero, we can be more efficient, which saves you money.
Are you qualified?
Yes, Donna’s qualifications include the Advanced Diploma of Accounting. She is also a registered BAS agent with the Tax Practitioners Board.
Informal associations include Xero certified advisor, QuickBooks Online partner and a member of the Australian Bookkeepers Network.
Are you insured?
Yes, we hold both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Why do you work remotely?
By working remotely from my office, I can be more available to you, rather than just the time I’m in your office. I can focus without distractions and work effieciently on my own computer.
How much will it cost?
Depending on what you feel most comfortable with, we can work on an hourly rate, or create a fixed monthly fee for you. Our hourly rate is $70 per hour. Our packages start at just $100 per month, depending on the number of bank accounts and transactions you have. Discuss the details Donna.
BAS is easy, why should I pay you to do it?
We are trained and qualified with many years experience. We understand the reconcilation process, know the correct GST treatment and ensure you a lodging correct figures with the ATO.
What is STP and do I need to know about it?
STP or Single Touch Payroll is the new way of reporting salaries, wages, PAYG and superannuation information to the ATO.
Previously this information was reported at EOFY through Payment summaries and PSAR. With the regulation changes, from 1st July 2019 small businesses need to report this information each pay run through an online program such as Xero. Businesses with more than 20 employees started using STP on 1st July 2018.
Do I need to register for GST?
You must register for GST if:
– your gross business income reaches $75,000
– your NFP gross business income reaches $150,000
– your provide taxi or limousine travel for passengers regardless of your income
– you want to claim fuel tax credits
If you’re not registered for GST, you cannot include GST on your invoices.
Once registered, you will need to submit your income, expenses & wages to the ATO either monthly or quarterly via a BAS.
What are BAS & IAS
A Business Activity Statement (BAS) is required to be lodged for all GST registered businesses, to report and pay to the ATO:
- GST on income and expenses
- PAYG instalments (PAYGI)
- PAYG withholding tax (PAYGW)
- other taxes
An Instalment Activity Statement (IAS) allows you to make regular monthly payments towards your expected income tax liability so you don’t end up with a large debt at EOFY.
